Take your photography skills to the next level with Foto Frenzy’s “Exploring Photography”, in the classroom and in the field at spectacular Mount Barney.
Go beyond the basics and not only learn how to take technically-better photos, but discover how to use the camera’s controls and train your eye to tell creative visual stories.
The aim of this weekend away is to build your confidence and help you capture your subjects the way you want them captured–and for you to begin to develop your own photographic style.
Over the 2 days of Exploring Photography, through discussion and osmosis– in the drylab, around cameras and over meals– you’ll learn the finer points of composition; how story-telling is influenced by camera technique; how light and colour affect texture and mood; how to ensure your results match your expectations; the importance of decision-making in the photographic process; how different post-processing treatments fit with your personal approach and creative vision and; the roll the printed image can play in helping you achieve your goals.
SESSION SCHEDULE– Welcome evening plus 2 FULL DAYS of tuition at Mount Barney.
– Friday –6:30pm onward. Arrivals, welcome and snacks. Settle-in.
– Saturday – The day includes lectures, breakout sessions and photographic opportunities. You’ll learn how to read images, interpret subject and begin to see with a critical eye; there will be shooting opportunities with guidance from your tutors; group post processing sessions and printmaking in the drylab. Optional Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner can be provided – see meals package information below.
– Sunday – Exploring Photography continues with dawn shooting opportunities; sessions on realising your vision in post-production; hands-on review and drylab time; interactive print critique sessions. Mount Barney is a spectacular location just an hour and a half South of Brisbane. Landscape and nature photo opportunities abound in the rustic surrounds of Mount Barney Lodge.
This course is the ideal opportunity for you to develop your technique under the personal guidance of experienced tutors – who are also award-winning photographers – passionate about sharing their insights into the art and craft of image-making.
